AI PRODUCTION PROCESS

AI Video Production Process

A practical view of how SHAR develops an AI-led commercial video from a business brief to approved files for the selected channels.

From brief to approved files

Each stage has a decision point. This keeps visual exploration separate from approvals and prevents unresolved product, brand or delivery questions from being pushed into the final edit.

01Business input

Brief, audience and channels

The process starts with the product, audience, communication goal, placements, required duration and available brand materials. These inputs define which scenes need strict product accuracy and where a more stylised approach is appropriate.

Checkpoint: the team agrees what the film must communicate and where it will be used.

02Visual system

Visual direction and scene plan

References are translated into key frames, composition rules, colour, camera behaviour and a scene list. The team decides which shots can be generated, which require CGI or filming, and what must remain consistent across every version.

Checkpoint: key frames and the production method are approved before the main scene build.

03Controlled generation

Directed generation and selection

Scenes are produced in controlled iterations. Frames are reviewed for product details, hands, faces, typography, continuity and brand elements before they enter the edit. Unusable variations are rejected rather than hidden in post-production.

Checkpoint: only selected frames with an agreed level of accuracy move into the edit.

04Post-production

Editing, sound and cleanup

Selected material is assembled into the agreed duration. Editing, colour, compositing, sound and artifact cleanup bring the shots into one visual system. Additional checks are made before shorter or vertical adaptations are prepared.

Checkpoint: the main edit establishes timing, continuity and the master visual treatment.

05Release package

Delivery and usage

The delivery package can include the main film and agreed versions for websites, presentations, digital advertising or social channels. File formats, source materials, licenses and usage rights are defined by the estimate and contract.

Checkpoint: the approved master and agreed channel versions are checked against the delivery list.

What is checked before a scene enters the edit

Generation is only one production stage. Selection and post-production determine whether the material can hold together as a commercial film.

Product and brand details

Shape, colour, packaging, logos and supplied brand elements are checked against the approved visual direction.

People and movement

Faces, hands, body mechanics, eyelines and camera movement are reviewed before a shot is accepted.

Typography and continuity

Text, recurring characters, objects, light and spatial logic are checked across neighbouring scenes.

Cleanup and assembly

Artifacts are corrected through regeneration, compositing, retouching or a different production method when that is more reliable.

Where AI ends and another method begins

AI is useful when controlled variation, stylised environments or fast visual exploration serves the brief. CGI can provide stricter product geometry. Filming can protect trust, performance and physical detail. A hybrid route assigns the method shot by shot instead of forcing one technology across the whole film.

Define the release package before final delivery

The estimate and contract should name the files, versions, review points and rights that belong to the project. Items not listed are not assumed.

See production pricing and estimate logic
Master and adaptations
Main duration, shorter edits, aspect ratios, subtitles and files for the agreed channels.
Licenses and usage
Approved tools, music or other licensed materials, territories, term and intended placements where applicable.
Source materials
Generated source assets, editable project files and other working materials only when they are included in the scope.
Review gates
Named approvals for visual direction, key frames, main edit and final versions before the next stage begins.

Bring the inputs that affect the production method

Share the product, audience, placements, target date, references and available brand materials. SHAR can then explain which scenes fit AI, CGI, filming or a hybrid approach before the detailed estimate.
