TOOLS / BUDGET
Video production cost calculator
A planning tool for understanding the likely order of budget before the brief. It accounts for format, complexity, versions and timing, but does not replace a detailed estimate.
What the range includes and excludes
The calculator models a production direction, not a binding quotation. A real estimate must confirm the concept, scene count, filming or generation plan, CGI and post-production workload, music and usage rights, deadlines and platform versions. Existing footage or product assets can change the scope, but do not automatically reduce it.
Use the result to prepare a budget conversation, then send the task, audience, channels, launch date and references. SHAR will clarify assumptions before committing to a production plan.
ESTIMATE QUESTIONS
How to use the preliminary range
Is the calculator result a final quotation?
No. It indicates an order of budget from the selected assumptions. A binding estimate requires a reviewed brief, scene list, rights and delivery package.
Which inputs change the range most?
Production method, scene count, filming days, CGI or AI work, post-production, music, usage rights, timing and the number of versions can all change the scope.
What should be sent for a detailed estimate?
Share the task, audience, placements, launch date, durations, references, restrictions and available assets. The producer will identify the decisions still missing.
