SHOT-BASED VFX / COMPOSITING

VFX, Compositing and In-Frame Graphics

We audit filmed plates, define the shot work and bring cleanup, tracking, roto, integrated elements and colour into one controlled composite.

WHERE IT FITS

Post-production begins with the plate

This owner is for work inside an existing shot: plate extension, cleanup, screen replacement, tracked graphics or the integration of CGI and approved generated elements. A graphic-led film belongs to motion design; exact 3D product construction belongs to CGI.

01

Cleanup and reconstruction

Remove agreed objects, repair selected areas or rebuild a clean background where the source material supports the task.

02

Tracking, roto and keying

Prepare camera or object tracks, masks and mattes so replacement screens, graphics or visual elements follow the photographed scene.

03

Integration and final composite

Match perspective, light, edge behaviour, motion, grain and colour before the shot enters final review and delivery.

SHOT WORKFLOW

Five gates from source audit to QC

Each shot is estimated from the source and the work it actually requires. The team confirms feasibility before labour-heavy tracking, roto, cleanup or rendering begins.

01Audit

Review plates and frame ranges

We check original files, compression, resolution, camera movement, motion blur and the frames affected by the change.

02Plan

Build the marked-up shot list

Tracking, rotoscoping, cleanup, screen work, graphics, CGI integration and output requirements are separated at shot level.

03Test

Approve a representative composite

A test frame or representative shot confirms the integration approach, edge treatment, light, perspective and colour before the sequence is completed.

04Execute

Track, roto, clean and integrate

The approved method is applied to the listed frame ranges. Shot notes record decisions and source limitations for review.

05Deliver

Review composites, colour and versions

The final gate checks the approved master and agreed export matrix.

SOURCE CHECK

Materials needed before the estimate

The source review establishes what can be solved reliably and what requires another method.

Heavy compression, clipped detail, motion blur, missing tracking information or an unsuitable camera move can limit cleanup and integration. Those constraints are recorded before approval.

Estimate
The RUB 650,000 guide applies to a defined shot list; cleanup and multi-shot CGI sequences are estimated differently.
Delivery
May include the approved master, agreed versions, clean backgrounds, graphics versions or technical image sequences.
Handoff
Project files, source setups and reusable graphic assets are transferred only when the estimate and contract include them.
Rights
The client confirms the right to use supplied footage, archives, models, graphics and other source assets.
Schedule
The schedule is proposed after the source and shot list have been reviewed.

VERIFIED ADJACENT WORK

AI and post-production for Evotor

This published case verifies SHAR's control of light, materials, composition, scene continuity and final assembly in an AI and post-production workflow. It is adjacent post-production evidence, not a claimed plate-to-final compositing breakdown.

CHOOSING THE METHOD

VFX, motion design, CGI or hybrid?

Choose by the source and the output. The methods can meet in one film, but each owner keeps a distinct production responsibility.

Compare confirmed budget guides on the pricing page before sending the shot list.

BUYER QUESTIONS

Before VFX production starts

Can you improve filmed material?

Yes, if the source files are suitable for post-production.

Is VFX only for films?

No. In ads and brand videos, VFX removes unwanted details and integrates footage, CGI and graphics into one frame.

Which source files are needed for an estimate?

Send original plates, a marked-up shot list, camera and lens data, clean plates or masks when available, effect references, delivery resolution, aspect ratios and the target date.

What changes the VFX price?

Shot count and length, plate condition, tracking, rotoscoping, cleanup, CGI integration, render passes, review rounds, resolution and delivery versions all affect the estimate.

What is delivered?

The contract can list an approved master, agreed versions, clean backgrounds, graphics versions or technical image sequences. Project files and source setups are not automatic.

When should we use motion design or CGI instead?

Use motion design for a graphic-led film and CGI when exact product form, materials or mechanics must be built in 3D. VFX integrates and finishes filmed plates or existing image sequences.

How long does VFX production take?

The schedule is proposed after the source and shot list review. It depends on tracking, cleanup, CGI or render passes, review rounds, resolution and version count.

START WITH THE SHOTS

Build a shot-based VFX estimate

Send the shot list, original plates, camera and lens data, clean plates when available, references, output resolution, versions and deadline. SHAR will review source suitability and return an itemised production scope.
